Interesting article about the link between sports and other benefits in life for women

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/15/as-girls-become-women-sports-pay-dividends/?em

This article state that doing sports during the teenage years is a significant predictor to success in early adult life for women. However, this isn't surprising as, in general, being an overachiever in one discipline often makes you an overachiever in many other aspects of life. Success breeds on success as one might say.

Ski trip in February

I am organizing a ski trip this coming February to Mont Ste-Anne, Qc, for 18 lucky fellow skier. This should be a great opportunity to cross-country over long distances, I haven't done that in ages! There are ski tracks which are 21km long, this should be a great way to keep in shape during the cold season!

I haven't been updating much my running bar, but I am training, you can count on this, I just ran 5x225m for the second times this week. Next step, 3x3000m!

Running this winter

Today I had my first experience running in the cold. The good thing is that it takes about 10 minutes to warm up and then I am good for glory. However, those ten minutes can be dreadful. If you want a good tip on running in the cold, better over dress than not. And also, make sure to plan appropriately your course such that you don't end up walking the last stretch.

This is a new start!

This week, I plan to start back my training where I left it. As a warmup, let us say I'll do 30km this week. Hey, I've already done 7.5km!

213 days to Ottawa

Still a hard day today. It is a little harder than I thought to get back to running. Tomorrow, I'll start bck biking to go to university, so at least I'll be doing some sports.

214 days to Ottawa

This is my first training since my last marathon a week ago... well I can say I had better training session! I am still recuperating from a naughty labyrinthitis infection that makes me dizzy while running, kinda like if I was drunk except I am not. I could only run for 30 minutes until I had to stop. I don't particularly like training indoors either, well, I had to start back one day!
